Our Specialist Teacher Service offers expert support across all areas of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Drawing on extensive experience in teaching, SEND leadership, specialist pedagogy, therapeutic approaches and assessments to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Professional Qualifications and Background

Our Specialist Teachers hold the relevant qualifications to provide professional advice and expertise across the four areas of SEND need.

Each of our Special Teachers hold qualifications, including Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCO), Postgraduate Therapeutic or Specialist Training and Level B Testing Accreditation.

Individual experiences each exceed over 20 years in various roles within education and SEND, including former Teachers (in mainstream and specialist settings), SENCos, SEND Officers within Local Authorities and Specialist Practitioners, such as Play Therapists.

  • Guidance or direct support to complete requests for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA).
  • Formal SEND‑focused supervision for SENCos, Senior Leaders and teaching staff, to strengthen practice and decision‑making.

Supporting Mainstream Schools Set Up Integrated Inclusion Bases

As the needs of children in mainstream schools continue to evolve, many settings are supporting pupils with increasingly complex SEND profiles as part of everyday practice.

At Waite Psychology, we believe that every Integrated Inclusion Base should be as unique as the children it supports. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. We work alongside schools to develop bespoke, purposeful provision for learners who need a different pathway to access learning successfully.

Together, we help schools create curriculum pathways that prioritise the essential foundations for learning—developing communication, emotional regulation, independence, engagement, and the skills children need to learn how to learn.

The teaching approaches, environment, and provision are intentionally designed around each pupil’s SEND profile, creating opportunities for meaningful, sustainable progress, increased confidence, and improved regulation.

Whether you’re in the early stages of planning an Integrated Inclusion Base or looking to strengthen an existing provision, our experienced Specialist Teacher can provide tailored guidance, curriculum planning, coaching, and practical support every step of the way.
